The seat mimics the spine

Japanese engineers designed the Kinetic Seat having as objective to replicate the movements of the spine in order to… ensure the stabilization of the head of the driver, a crucial element during the driving, if that’s kept constant, and the optical field.
This is an unusual seat, which we saw in the exhibition of original Lexus UF, which as you see is covered by a peculiar “cloth”, which looks like a spider’s web. The fibers of this tissue-mesh, which is spread out in such a way as to absorb uniformly the weight of the driver, is made of synthetic silk and not from petroleum derivatives. A key component of this material is the protein that is generated by microbial fermentation.

As is well known, in humans, the pelvis and the chest are the possibility to rotate in opposite directions, even when one walks or runs, with the result that the stabilization of the head. In order to reproduce this feature, the cushion and the seat back have the ability to move, adaptable to both the weight of the passenger, and the external forces applied during movement of the car.
