The residents of the village Κούλατα, which is located in southwestern Bulgaria, at the border with Greece, claim that the first illegal immigrants have already crossed our country in Bulgaria.
This report, in reporting of the news agency in Sofia, Novinite, explaining that the Weekend children of this village saw 6 or 7 men to carry their luggage and walk along the international railway line.
The children told their parents that the men spoke a foreign language and they made nods to remain quiet.
In accordance with the Bulgarian National Radio, a group of refugees -which quickly disappeared in the dark – saw and older residents of the village.
The border police had been informed, but the Authorities were not able to detect the footprints of illegal immigrants.

As noted by the Novinite, despite the increased security measures at the border with Greece, the inhabitants of the village Κούλατα but also of the surrounding villages claim that the storage is insufficient. At the same time, worried that the former military barracks and the border facilities are preparing intensively to be converted into accommodation centres for refugees in the case of increased migratory pressure.
Last week the residents of Κρέσνα protested against alleged plans for the conversion of the former barracks in the city centers for the housing of refugees.
According to the news agency of Sofia, smuggling has always been profitable activity in the area and the people who were involved in this have begun to operate on both sides of the border.
From their side, however, the residents insist that only the erection of a fence would be an effective measure in the case that the migration flows from Greece to Bulgaria increased, and several times in the past as the country’s prime minister and the minister of Defence have declared that they are ready for the construction of a light barbed wire at the border.
The Novinite, however, notes that the closure of the western “balkan route” was anyway possible that the flow of refugees to head through Bulgaria.
The border police of Bulgaria in cooperation with the army shall carry out checks in order to be in readiness for the guarding of the borders.
