arriving at the EU’s borders, warns the French prime minister
Dramatic warning that Europe can’t manage the number of refugees arriving on its borders wrote today to the prime minister of France, Manuel Waltz, while stressing that the flow of this threatens the idea of the European Union.
“We can’t say or accept that all the refugees … they are welcome in Europe,” said the Waltz at the BBC, adding that the immigration crisis threatens to destabilize the European Union, and that stronger controls should be exercised on its borders.
The Waltz also pointed out that Europe needs to send a different message than that sent by the chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, which called on its European partners to adopt quotas for refugees.
“Germany is faced with a major challenge. We have to help Germany. However, the first message we need to send now with the utmost determination is to say that we will not welcome all refugees in Europe”, stressed the Waltz. “Because a message that says ‘come on, you are welcome’, is causing major changes,” he added.
