Early in the new year and in their staffs they study the data by taking stock and planning for 2025. As demonstrated by Nielsen’s measurements the competition of television stations was tough, but they reflect the winners and losers in the battle of ratings, at the same time proving the response of their choices. Options by which some increased their rates, while others caused viewers to leave their frequencies. CORVERSE In the following tables you can see the ranking in the general set (Table 1) and the dynamic audience (Table 2), as shown in Nielsen’s ratings figures for 2024, while in the second column each table lists the corresponding averages of television stations in 2023, reflecting their rise… or fall! As you can see in “Table 1” in the first place of the 2024 ranking in the general total, MEGA was found maintaining the same percentages as the previous year, in 2023, thus succeeding in passing the ALPHA that was reduced by its forces. In third place was the SKAI with a minimal reduction, followed by ANT1 with an increase in its percentage, as was the following STAR. The change in ranking then comes, after ERT1 noted little increase in powers, unlike OREN who lost several viewers scoring the biggest decline and thus ended up in 7th place of the ranking, which is supplemented by the two other channels (ERT3 and ERT2) on public television. CORVERSE A change was also noted in the ranking of the potential audience, since in 2024 most viewers aged 18-54 chose MEGA which, yes, showed a reduction in its powers in the year that passed, but smaller than that of ALPHA resulting in its end in second place. With fewer viewers of this age group, however, the year was also closed for STAR, ANT1 and SKAI who follow in the rankings, while ERT1 managed to win some, thus overcoming the OREN that proved that it opened the exit door to several of its viewers. Finally, few viewers aged 18-54 chose the year to attend the programmes of ERT3 and ERT2, with which public television channels complete the ranking in the “dynamic public”. So this is the evidence that Nielsen has obtained for the year that it was completed, but it shows that a very large proportion of viewers are far from the national range of general television stations. The most important element of ratings is that in 2024 compared to 2023 fewer viewers in both the overall total (71.4% than 73.3%) and the potential audience (62.5% out of 66.5) attended national television stations of general content, as their total percentage decreased. Element to be taken into account in the staffs of the channels as it turns out that several of their options do not interest a significant portion of the television audience that year after year is removed from their frequencies…!
