The CUNY Forum is a monthly town meeting that brings prominent New Yorkers together with faculty and students of the Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government and Public Affairs. Moderator Bob Liff and panel of practitioners and observers preview key public policy contests in 2011-both in Albany and in Washington, DC. The panel examines the economic and political contests facing Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo, who prepares to take office under the cloud of a Billion budget shortfall in New York State. The new Governor must wrestle with a host of powerful interests, as well as a legislature that is likely to be divided when the next legislative session begins in Albany. In view of the sharp contests arising over tax policy in Albany and Washington, 2011 should prove a challenging year for governments at all levels. Video Rating: 0 / 5
