The documentary’s direction for SuperMan is signed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui who “explore to new heights” the touching story of the late actor whose life changed inside “at a time”. It is noted that in May 1995, during a match in which he participated, his horse ejected him resulting in him landing with his head and staying quadriplegic at the age of 42. Through family videos that first come to the public and new interviews of his children and actors who met him, epic documentary describes Reeve’s work immediately after the accident which was an inspiration for thousands of his fans, according to Variety. He was an activist and advocate of research into spinal cord injury, establishing the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. He died in 2004 of heart failure. A key person in the documentary is the late Robin Williams with whom they became close friends in 1973, when they studied together at Juilliard School in New York. “Hero”, according to Reeve “is an ordinary man who finds the power to persist and endure despite overwhelming obstacles”.
