The legislation of Solon of homosexuality in ancient Greece

What exactly was going on in ancient Greece and what was required by the laws for those practising same-sex relationships? The laws in ancient Greece were quite clear…”If the Athenian εταιρήση, with έξεστω him of the nine princes to come, nor ιερωσύνην ιερώσασθαι, nor συνδικήσαι the pyrenees, neither principle αρχέτω μηδεμιάν, nor ενδημον, nor υπερόριον, nor κληρωτήν, nor χειροτονητήν, nor επικυρήκειαν αποστελλέσθω, nor mind, λεγέτω, neither go into the δημοτελή holy εισίτω, nor in the κοιναίς σταφονοφορίες σταφανούσθω, nor within the market περιρραντηριων πορευέσθω. If I don’t, however the ποιή, καταγνωσθέντως this εταιρείν, death ζημιούσθω”.Ie:If someone is Athenian entered into a homosexual relationship with another will have one of the following sanctions:1. He is not allowed to become a member of the 9 αρχόντων2. He is not allowed to be elected ιερέας3. He is not allowed to be an advocate of λαού4. “If the Athenian εταιρήση, with έξεστω him of the nine princes to come, nor ιερωσύνην ιερώσασθαι, nor συνδικήσαι the pyrenees, neither principle αρχέτω μηδεμιάν, nor ενδημον, nor υπερόριον, nor κληρωτήν, nor χειροτονητήν, nor επικυρήκειαν αποστελλέσθω, nor mind, λεγέτω, neither go into the δημοτελή holy εισίτω, nor in the κοιναίς σταφονοφορίες σταφανούσθω, nor within the market περιρραντηριων πορευέσθω. If I don’t, however the ποιή, καταγνωσθέντως this εταιρείν, death ζημιούσθω”.
That is to say:
If someone is Athenian entered into a homosexual relationship with another will have one of the following sanctions:
1. He is not allowed to become a member of the 9 lords
2. He is not allowed to be elected priest
3. He is not allowed to be an advocate of the people
4. You are not allowed to exercise authority within or outside of Athens
5. You are not allowed to be sent as the herald of war
6. you are not allowed to expose opinion (as a deaf – unstable)
7. You are not allowed to get into (public) Temples
8. You are not allowed to στεφανωθεί on στεφανοφορίες
9. You are not allowed to enter the sacred space of the market
so anyone who has been convicted as gay but act contrary to the provisions of the law will be punishable by death!
