The countdown for it has already begun, the Christmas tree on the stage and today Thursday (28.11.2024) completed its decoration with its impressive illumination. Athens “put its best” officially and is ready to host thousands of citizens and tourists for the festive Christmas season. Crowds gathered in Syntagma Square to enjoy lighting Thursday afternoon. Stars, elves and the well-known nutcracker decorated in the center of Athens. The 20 meters fir arrived in the capital from the Halkidiki Brigade. The event is presented by Nancy Zabetoglou and Thanasis Anagnostopoulos while the voice of Nefeli Fasouli and the music of Athens Big Band sound in the square with Christmas tunes. The present was also given by the mayor of Athens, Harry Duke, who invited the whole world to participate in the decoration events of Athens that will continue in the coming days. The tree was adorned with 20,000 lamps and 140 recyclable plastic.
