On Saturday, 24 August 2024, the great Greek philosopher, professor, writer and columnist, Christos Giannaras, left his last breath. His death made his son Spyros known. “My beloved father, Christos Giannaras, died this afternoon,” were the words of Spiros Giannaras. The deceased was one of the most distinguished philosophers. Christos Giannaras was born in Athens on 10 April 1935. He studied in Athens, Paris and Bonn. He was a professor of Philosophy at Panteion University and co-authored numerous books, articles and essays examining topics such as the relationship between Greek orthodoxy and philosophy, the crisis of modern civilization, and the political and social situation of Greece. For years he was a columnist in the Kathimerini newspaper.
