The first liquefied natural gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas gas station ( ) was set up to supply a High Performance Cogeneration and Heat Unit (SYA), which was designed and implemented by Dimitra Serres, expanding the network of small-scale liquefied natural gas facilities (sssLNG) that carries the benefits of natural gas to remote areas and customers outside the pipeline network. Specifically, as announced by the company today, the LNG facility, designed and completed by DEPA Commercial, it was done to feed the greenhouse gas of the company Dimitra Sun EU in Dimitra Serres, opening the way for the connection of a remote from the primary sector gas plant, which uses SITHA to meet its thermal needs. This application is an important step in the supply of industries outside the gas network. ‘This supply is part of the DEPA Marketing strategy for the advent of natural gas across Greece, particularly in the outermost regions, which are not connected to the national transport network, supporting the country’s green transition and climate objectives. As part of this strategy, last month the filling of the Storage and Gasification Station in Kastoria was carried out, which opened the way to supply the areas of Kastoria and Argos Orestiko, while until the end of 2024, Florina and the Industrial Area of Patras will follow. The application of SITHYA technology in the agricultural sector, in particular in the greenhouses, offers significant benefits by reducing energy costs, increasing crop productivity”, stresses DEPA Marketing. The head of DEPA Marketing’s CNG/ssLNG, Peter Panos, said in this regard: “The Marketing DEPA continues to offer modern, efficient and environmentally friendly energy solutions, continuously strengthening the small-scale LNG network that transports gas to industrial customers who do not have access to the natural gas network. Today’s connection is the first important step for the development of greenhouses outside the gas network, offering them low energy costs, increasing productivity and reducing their environmental footprint.” For his part, the representative of the company Dimitra Sun EU said: “Our cooperation with DEPA Marketing is a milestone for the development of our unit. The use of natural gas through SITHYA enables us to reduce our operating costs, improve the quality of our crops and help reduce pollutant emissions. We hope that this example will be a guide to the wider use of SITHYA technology in the agricultural sector.”
