The european view of the actions of the General Secretariat for Gender Equality of the two months June – July 2016

outside the European Union through the use of the online platform EuroGender-ΕυρωΦύλο” of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE): http://eurogender.eige.europa.eu/ .
Twelve important announcements have already been posted on the online platform of information and awareness of this European Body, which is a reference point for the promotion of the principle of gender equality within and outside the boundaries of the European Union. More specifically:
On 2 June 2016 it was the initiative of the C.C.I. F. for the publication in Greece of the summary of the work of the first-ever World Humanitarian Conference with explicit reference to women’s rights and gender equality.
On 9 June 2016 have been made publicly available statistical data on the participation of women in positions of responsibility in the Greek public administration. The data come from the database of the Ministry of Interior & Administrative Reconstruction (Department of Administrative Reconstruction & E-Governance), while prior processing of these from the Section Implementation & Monitoring Policy for Gender Equality of the C.C.I. F.
On June 13, 2016 the C.C.I. F. published the Declaration of Leaders of 79 developing countries, where the equality holds leading position. The weekend of 31 May – 1 June 2016 was held in Port Moresby, capital of Papua New Guinea, the 8th Conference of Heads of state and Governments of 79 countries of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, which have concluded a cooperation agreement with the European Union (known as the Agreement of Cotonou).
On 17 June 2016.C.I. F. posted the findings of the labour force survey for the first quarter of 2016 in Greece, from which, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, shows the negative lead of Greek unemployment.
On 23 June 2016, the C.C.I. F. posted on the online platform of the EIGE successful public information and awareness-raising on the role of gender equality in development cooperation as a distinct thematic unity in the European Days for Development (Brussels, 15-16/6/2016).
1 July 2016 posted by C.C.I. F. in this online platform the seven Principles for the empowerment of women in business and the economy.
On July 4, 2016 have been posted in the photo albums of C.C.I. F. for the two national contests, make a poster of school/academic year 2015-2016 for students/students and students/students.
On July 5, 2016 C.C.I. F. posted relevant information material for the International Symposium “Women of Prespa – Women of the World. The Women of Prespa Attempt” (Florina, 7-8/7/2016), which was implemented in the framework of the co-financed Project entitled “New Prespas Festival: The Ladies of the Lakes” (Operational cross-border Programme IPA “Greece-the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia 2007-2013”).
On 18 July 2016, the C.C.I. F. posted on the online platform of EIGE the results of successful public action of information and awareness the Directorate of Development & Support Policies for Gender Equality on the impact of the economic crisis on the employment of Women in the public and private sector, according to a Report by the European Parliament.
On 18 July 2016 posted on an English-language E-Newsletter of the Structure of the Observatory for Gender Equality with the theme participation of Women in decision-making centres.
On 21 July 2016 posted by competent Development Directorate & Support Policies for Gender Equality a summary in the English language on the policies and actions C.C.I. F. for the strengthening of women’s employment.
On 22 July 2016 posted on an English-language E-Newsletter of the Structure of the Observatory for Gender Equality with the theme “Women and Poverty”.
The General Secretariat for Gender Equality work methodically, perseverance and consistency for the development of cooperation at national, european and international level and leverages all the tools in the struggle for the achievement of substantive equality between women and men.
