The crews warmed up the Fleet allowance: Ready for departure and participation in the “Aspides” exercise frigate Hydra

With high morale after and after the payment of the Fleet allowance the crew of the frigate “HYDRA” prepares him for sailing to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The ship is expected to solve pods exactly in a week, on Tuesday 7 January, in order to participate with the Navy for the second time in the European Operation “ASPIDES”. And if the first time the crew had justified concern about what they are about to face, they now know both the conditions and the fact that the ship can cope with any challenge. CORVERSE Despite the oldness of his systems, it appeared that excellent maintenance combined with the high level of training of the Navy Staff, the frigate “HYDRA” remained unstoppable. Typically, requests for participation in the mission exceeded the needs and the ship departs with complete completeness in all positions and specialties. In any case, and given the difficulty of the mission which requires 24-hour vigilance, the financial incentive is a decisive factor in the participation of the executives who want to feel that their efforts are being rewarded. This is the biggest “bet” for political leadership, but mainly for the Naval Staff, which makes a significant effort to contain the personnel serving in the fleet’s combat units, but also to give additional incentives to the Steles, as the wave of flight from the Armed Forces has been intense in recent years, let alone the Navy. In many cases the low rewards, the difficult conditions on board the ships and the fact that the men and women who specialise in frigates and the other Strike Units are forced to be away from their families even six months, lead them to resignation. ADVERSE Christmas Eve the Commands serving on the ships of the Fleet received the Fleet allowance – Special Fleet Compensation as mentioned in the relevant CYA. The relevant compensation shall be paid on the basis of the type of vessel, the degree and tasks of the staff. The increase in the net monthly remuneration of the Executives shall be calculated at 15-25% and shall apply retroactively from 1 June 2024, when the relevant decision was signed. The 1st category of ships consists of the frigates, rockets, gunboats and submarines of the Fleet where it serves about 75% of the crews on warships. In this category the increase for Commander Governor is estimated at 460 euros, for Commander Commander at 380 euros. The Ensign new officer saw his salary higher by 250 euros, the Petty Officer received an additional 220 euros and the OPP-OVA about 210 euros. The daily off-site compensation – the so-called “aircrafts” – is paid in addition to missions, while the Navy Commands, as well as the total of the Armed Forces and Security Corps, will receive from mid-2025 and the Hazard allowance. The financial “breath” with the fleet allowance on crews causes optimism in the Naval Staff that a barrier will be put into the “wave” of resignations, in view of the receipt within 2025 of the new Belharra frigates.
