The award of the medals to Constantine and Stefanidis and the retraction of the national anthem at the 2024 Paralympic Games

Two Greek athletes on the 2024 podium. Thanasis Konstantinidis and Lazarus Stefanidis took their medals and listened to him, after the “gold” success of the first. Our national anthem was heard at “Stade de France” and for the first time at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Thanasis Konstantinidis received the gold medal for his first in the final of the F32 shot and celebrated for the second time in Paris. Constantinidis went to the Paralympic Games 2024 having an individual record of 11.60m and this year’s best performance of 10.56m. In the final he pitched 11.17 – 11.57 – 10.94 – 11.92 and 11.93 meters in his last attempt to twice shoot down the European record! On his side and 3rd place, Lazarus Stefanidis was found. The Greek athlete pitched 9.84m and managed to win the bronze medal, behind Constantineides and independent (Russian) Alexei Tsupkin who dropped 11.39m. Greece now counts nine medals at the 17th Paralympic Games. Konstaninidis’ gold in the F32 sphere, three silver with Antonis Tsapatakis in swimming (100m anterior SB4), Lida Manthopoulou in the track (100m – T38) and Konstantinidis in his second medal in the event that was silver in the F32 corina. We also have five bronze medals. In the boot, individual BC3 with Gregory Polychronidis, in the track with Lazaros Stefanidis in the F32 and Konstantinos Juni in the F56 discus and in Tae kwon do (K44) with Christina Gentzou at 65k and Eleni Papastamatopoulou at +65.
