Ladies and gentlemen/s Juncker, Lagarde, Draghi, Regling,
The Working Group of the European Parliament for the Financial Assistance (Financial Assistance Working Group) has recently carried out a meeting to exchange views with Professor Gerhard Bosch, who was a member of the “Group of Experts on the evaluation of the arrangements for the labour market in Greece”.
The Expert Group set up by all of the parties involved in the Memorandum of mutual understanding in August 2015, with the mandate to conduct “a process of consultation (….) for a review of some existing frameworks of the labour market, including collective redundancies, trade union action and collective bargaining, taking into account the best practices at international level and in Europe.
The report was published in Greece in September 2016 was sent to you in order to take into account, in accordance with the agreed mandate of the Expert Group. It’s come to my attention that the members of the expert group have not, until today, received any feedback or have not had the opportunity to inform you, or your services formally for the results of their work and their recommendations.
As you know very well, the reform of the legislation on the labour market in Greece is a central point in the current negotiations in the framework of the programme of financial assistance. In this context, I would be grateful if you could let me know about your appreciation for the report of the Expert Group and its recommendations, and to tell me to what extent you take into account when forming your views regarding the reforms in the Greek labour market.
Your answer is a valuable contribution to our work in the European Parliament, in particular in the context of the “Working Group on the Financial Aid”.
