Thasos: 85-Year-Old Man Found Dead on Beach

An 85-year-old man was pulled lifeless from the sea off the beach of Koinyrou Theologou on the island of Thasos early Tuesday morning (01.07.2025). First aid was administered to the elderly man by bystanders at the scene before he was transported via ambulance operated by EKAV to the Prinos Health Center. However, upon arrival, he was pronounced dead and the death was officially confirmed at the health center. The investigation is currently being handled by the First Maritime Department of Thasos under the Port Authority of Kavala, which has ordered an autopsy to be conducted by the Forensic Medicine Service of Thrace.
