Tensions Rise at the National Gallery Between Christian Fanatics and Free Expression Protesters

Intense tension erupted outside the National Gallery when a group of fanatical individuals confronted members of cultural organizations peacefully protesting in support of free expression. As citizens advocating for the freedom of art unfurled a banner inside the National Gallery, jeers and threats from some Christian fanatics were heard. The protesters, who remained calm, then entered the gallery to visit the vandalized area. The protest continued inside the gallery as the banner reading ‘The Freedom of Art is Non-Negotiable’ was displayed in front of the space vandalized by MP Nikos Papadopoulos. Exhibition organizers stated that nothing would be altered, and the broken images would remain on the floor until the exhibition’s closing date.
