Minutes of tension unfolded at Mykonos Airport when at least 10 young passengers ignored crew instructions, causing a Volotea flight to Naples to be delayed for more than three hours.
According to fellow passengers, the aircraft—already positioned on the runway and ready for takeoff—was disrupted when the group unfastened their seatbelts and stood up, refusing to sit back down. Cabin crew repeatedly urged them to return to their seats for safety reasons, but the passengers did not comply.
After the crew alerted the pilot, he halted the takeoff procedure and taxied the plane back to the airport’s gate area. Shortly afterward, Greek police officers boarded the aircraft, identified the individuals involved, and escorted them off the plane.
The incident led to a delay of over three hours for the scheduled flight and triggered a ripple effect of delays across Mykonos Airport.
