New revelations about the Tempi railway disaster have come to light, revealing the presence of wood alcohol in seven out of 25 samples sent for analysis at the State Laboratory. According to Mega and Live News broadcasts in May 2024, samples were taken from the freight cars and wagons involved in the Tempi railway tragedy. Twenty-five samples were sent to the State Laboratory for examination. It was subsequently revealed that wood alcohol was found in seven of these samples: – From the exterior material of the second electric locomotive of the freight train, – From the exterior material of the first electric locomotive of the freight train, – In cotton wool from the first electric locomotive of the freight train, – In material from the engine of the passenger train’s locomotive, – In soil north of the retaining wall base, – In soil south of the retaining wall base, and – In soil at the base of the eastern rail slope.
