Teleperformance in Greece invests in a better world for future generations

Taking care of the planet, sustainable development and equal opportunities in work and life are now key axes in modern reality. However, a crucial question arises: How much do these authorities actually apply by companies, businesses and organisations? The answer lies in actions, initiatives and action. Companies that incorporate these principles into their strategy in a meaningful way and turn them into practical movements are the ones that stand out! In , sustainability is not just a goal but a basic principle of corporate culture . Therefore, its strategy has been structured around two key pillars: the Citizen of the Planet (COTP), which concerns environmental protection and safeguarding natural resources for generations of the future, and the Citizen of the World (COTW), which places human focus, with emphasis on equality, integration and prosperity. The Protection of Poseidonia Livadia – A key initiative The iconic Posidonia Oceanica campaign: Do Not Disturb of Teleperformance in collaboration with ELKETHE aims to protect and preserve the precious Posidonia meadows. This is because it is one of the most important natural lungs in the Mediterranean, which are threatened by human activities and climate change. The program focuses on a “invisible” but vital world: , often called “weeds”. This unique sea lung protects marine life, absorbs carbon dioxide and enhances the stability of the local ecosystem. However, it is at risk because of pollution, waste, uncontrolled anchoring and excessive human activity. Posidonia meadows “flower” in the Mediterranean and host over 1,300 species of fauna and flora, making them one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. They absorb up to 35 times more carbon than tropical forests, which is why they are described as ‘blue forests’. Their recovery in the event of destruction requires decades, or even centuries, for complete restoration. This reality highlights the vital importance of preserving and protecting Posidonia meadows. Through the Posidonia Oceanica campaign: Do Not Disturb, Teleperformance seeks to reduce exogenous pressures and support the survival of these unique ecosystems. The implementation of the project began in the Municipality of Markopoulou – Mesogaia, with the first area of interest Porto Rafti. Under the campaign, Teleperformance cooperates with the Municipal Authority, the Municipal Port Fund Markopoulos and ELKETHE. Field actions are conducted at regular intervals, as this is a multi-level project, first carried out in Greece. The recording and study of the site where anchors of the vessels have already begun. In October 2024 measurements were carried out with a special vessel at the points where, in the following period, anchors would be placed, so that anchors would not “fall” unchecked. The next steps include informing local authorities, professionals and associations about the issue. Small green spirits give breath to cities The need to regenerate forest areas that have been hit by fires and to address drought is at the heart of the reforestation actions of Teleperformance Greece. In this context, the company collaborated with environmental organization Save Your Hood, carrying out tree planting actions in affected areas. In February 2024, the employees of Teleperformance Greece, along with relatives and friends, participated in tree planting at the ANIMA Refuge, the Wildlife Protection and Care Association, in Kalyvia. In this area, which had been severely damaged by the great fire of 2023, 380 new plants were planted, while training for the proper planting of trees was made to increase their chances of survival and contribute to restoring the natural landscape. A similar action took place in Angelohori Thessaloniki, aiming both at restoring the natural landscape and linking workers to nature and local society. In the same spirit, in December 2024, employees of Teleperformance Greece, along with local bodies, such as Let’s Do It Greece, the Association for the Protection and Development of Hymetos (SPAY) and the Volunteer Group for Forestry and Fire Protection of Greek – Argyroupolis, contributed to the creation of a new green lung in Hymetos, strengthening the natural environment of Attica. Garbage out, life in: We clean our seas Teleperformance Greece’s promise to protect the environment extends to the seas. Under World Cleanup Day 2024, the company’s employees, in collaboration with Save Your Hood, cleaned waves and the beach of the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF). This area gathers large quantities of waste, which pose a constant threat to the marine ecosystem. Teleperformance volunteers managed to remove over 5,700 litres of mixed and recyclable materials, contributing substantially to the restoration of ecological balance. Teleperformance as an ally of sustainable development The actions of reforestation, clean-up and protection of Posidonia meadows highlight the leading role of Teleperformance Greece in sustainable development. Through Citizen of the Planet (COTP) and Citizen of the World (COTW), the company invests in initiatives with a substantial impact on the environment and society, creating better prospects for future generations.
