The first “message” to capture 39-year-old billionaire Pavel Durov in Paris sent Telegram. “He has nothing to hide” assured yesterday, Sunday (25.08. 24) Telegram for the founder of Pavel Durov, who was arrested Saturday at Burze International Airport, near Paris, as part of research into various offences through the platform. “Telegram respects European Union legislation, including the Digital Services Act, content control complies with sector rules”, noted Telegram, which has installed its headquarters in Dubai, through its channel and other social networking sites. “Pavel Durov has nothing to hide and travels often to Europe,” he continued. “It is absurd to claim that a platform, or its owner, is responsible for abuses” of the possibilities provided through it, insisted. In France justice accuses Telegram of not acting to prevent its users from exploiting the platform for illegal actions, such as fraud, drug trafficking, online harassment, organised crime, and even exclamation of terrorism. This is mainly due to a lack of regulatory rules and cooperation with the authorities. Telegram was fully funded by Durov until 2018. The platform, which measures around 50 full-time workers, opened the advertisements in 2021, stressing however that it will not use its users’ personal data. In 2022 he created a premium subscription system.
