Taxi Hijacking Incident in Metamorfosi: The Shocking Video Documentary

A shocking video documentary has emerged showing the moment a 46-year-old man hijacked a taxi from a female driver parked on a central road in Metamorfosi, followed by a chaotic chase led by EL.AS officers until his arrest in Chalandri. Newsit.gr has made this incident public, which caused an uproar among law enforcement authorities and occurred at noon on the second day of Easter (April 21, 2025). According to the footage obtained by Newsit.gr, the clock showed 14:12 when the taxi driven by a 49-year-old woman stopped almost in front of a kiosk on Georgiou Papandreou Street in Metamorfosi. At that moment, a 46-year-old man wearing black clothes and a cap moved slowly, passing by the kiosk and the taxi before heading towards the bus stop. He sat there, keeping his eyes on the taxi. Moments later, the 49-year-old driver exited her vehicle and approached the kiosk. Seizing the opportunity, the man stood up from the bus stop and approached the car. Seeing the driver conversing with the kiosk attendant, he entered the vehicle where the keys were left on the dashboard, drove off toward Kifissia, and accelerated. The driver realized her taxi was being stolen as the vehicle began moving and shouted for help, immediately alerting the police. Shortly after, EL.AS officers pursued the suspect who ignored their commands to stop. In an attempt to escape, the 49-year-old abandoned the vehicle and tried hiding inside a residential building’s gateway but was located and arrested for theft and disobedience.
