Public television deemed some of the political statements made by Notis Sfakianakis too extreme and taboo, confessed Tasos Tryfonos. During a recent appearance on the show ‘Kalitera de ginei’ (Things Can’t Get Better) on Sunday, February 23, 2025, Tryfonos discussed his two televised interviews with Sfakianakis. The first interview never aired because public television found it too controversial. ‘When we conducted the second interview, there was an attempt to create a safety net, but again, some of his views were considered extreme, leading to a penalty from the National Radio and Television Council,’ stated Tryfonos. He added that this situation likely upset Sfakianakis, and they haven’t spoken since. Tryfonos also clarified that conducting an interview does not imply agreement or affection towards the interviewee. It was indeed a tense period, but they proceeded despite the challenges.
