A tanker reported being struck by a projectile of unknown origin in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) — the British naval security agency — on 27 June 2026.

The vessel sustained damage to its bridge, but all crew members are safe and no environmental damage appears to have occurred, UKMTO added.

UKMTO issued Warning 076-26, urging heightened vigilance in the region. The incident marks a renewed escalation in tensions in the Persian Gulf, following reciprocal strikes between Iran and the United States.
