SYRIZA: They put difficult criteria on Kasselakis – Tough criteria for presidential candidates

in

Stricter criteria are being sought by his new majority for the party’s candidate presidents, as last year’s conditions were deemed insufficient, since only 30 signatures of JV members were needed. At the Political Secretariat of Syriza meeting on Tuesday (17.9.2024) “87” appeared to insist that the criteria should be stricter in order to avoid irregularities. The group of “87” appeared to point out that this time the mistakes of the past should not be repeated, but adding that the criteria should not be photographic. This was the view of Rania Svingou, Rena Douros, Panagiotis Rigas, Nikos Pappas, Theodoras Jackris, Paul Polakis and Olympia Telijoridou. Thus, it was decided that the proposals for the criteria should not be included in the SG’s proposal to the JV without, however, excluding that someone or some will not raise this issue to the JV. As has become known, the new commitments concern political and economic criteria. In particular, candidates should commit themselves to respecting and accepting the statutes and decisions of the collective bodies, testifying to their objectives and having no public and general public debt (insurance funds, tax). It should be recalled that, as far as Stefanos Kasselakis was concerned, there had been a great deal of noise during the European elections, as the ND called for the publication of the former president’s assets. At the time, the former president of SYRIZA had presented the notorious excel which caused severe reactions and cost SYRIZA election. Given that suspicion from all sides is dominant, Olga Gerovasili in her position referred to the issue of where he was going, pointing out that Stefanos Kasselakis has submitted from time to time. Also, Theodora Jackris reacted when the proposal was heard that the following powers of candidates should be submitted to a competent committee. The Secretary of SYRIZA’s KO asked to know which criteria the committee will be set up, and who will participate. Thanasis Theocharopoulos for his part argued that the issue is political, and there is no intention of excluding any candidate from those who have been heard, filling in that Stefanos Kasselakis should be judged from the basis . At the Political Secretariat meeting Paul Polakis appeared to insist that the polls should be set up faster. This proposal was voted against by the overwhelming (18 – 3) majority with Theodora Jackris and Olympia Telijoridou were drafted with him. The conference will still be extraordinary with elections of new delegates rather than charters and will be held from 1-3 November. The election will take place on the 24th of the same month. The Political Secretariat, which will meet on Thursday, will include the ratification process of the nominations (signature collection and date of their submission). Theodora Jackri’s proposal for the collection of 50 signatures did not pass, as it was considered a photo for candidates who may not have so many members in the C.E., including Paul Polakis. Regarding Katerina Notopoulou’s complaints about bullying, which, he says, was made by Stefanos Kasselakis, MP I of Thessaloniki going one step further, he referred to Action 24 in messages he has received. In fact, at the Political Secretariat meeting Katerina Notopoulou reportedly stressed that the sms have kept them. And he recalled that he has publicly requested the ex-president’s permission to present them and that if the members of her body tell the prosecutor to go, he will. Sources near Stefanos Kasselakis replied yesterday at noon that “bulling is not an empty word. Too many people have suffered from this and cannot be used as a subject of political exploitation. Mrs Notopoulou must immediately address justice. It is a serious offense and Stefanos Kasselakis who has suffered it to a large extent and knowing very well the cruelty of this thing, will not tolerate any shadow in this matter.”
