SYRIZA officials have expressed their view that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is turning a blind eye to serious regional issues by failing to address them. Specifically, they criticized him for not commenting on the U.S. bombing of Iranian technical facilities and Israel’s stance. SYRIZA’s press spokesman, Giorgos Karameros, highlighted that Greece’s foreign policy position has been consistently slipping. He remarked, “It is unacceptable for the prime minister, while nuclear facilities in a country have been bombed by the United States, to simply say ‘good morning’ and write about brain drain and his version of OPEKEPE on Facebook.” Furthermore, he pointed out that when the government eventually reacts, it holds fast-track meetings with the National Defense Council and releases statements advocating for the cessation of Iran’s nuclear program without addressing broader escalations. Karameros added, “Greece cannot be an international observer and commentator on Facebook. There is a serious problem here.” The discussion also covered economic and digital warfare as potential global conflicts and questioned Greece’s readiness for another wave of inflation. SYRIZA representatives also reviewed recent foreign affairs involving Libya, Egypt, and Syria, critiquing the Greek government’s handling of these situations.
