Authorities have arrested nine individuals linked to a highly organized jewelry theft ring that terrorized multiple stores across Attica. Their brazen, methodical raids — captured in detail by security cameras — reveal how the group targeted shops in areas including Nikaia, using stolen vehicles and coordinated tactics to carry out swift, violent break-ins.
Chilling Footage Shows Calculated Attack
The surveillance footage shows a white stolen car pulling up outside a jewelry store in Nikaia. Four members of the gang quickly exit the vehicle. One attempts to force open the entrance with a crowbar while two accomplices use a broomstick to physically redirect the security camera — deliberately blinding it to conceal their movements.
Within seconds, they smash the storefront window with a sledgehammer, storm inside, and begin looting. The loud crash and commotion reportedly startled local residents. According to the store owner, who spoke to MEGA: “There were four or five people. They parked outside, used crowbars and sledgehammers to break the doors, rushed in, grabbed whatever they could, and fled.”
Four Minutes, €20,000 in Loot
The entire operation lasted just four minutes. The masked perpetrators escaped with jewelry valued at approximately €20,000. The owner confirmed that similar break-ins had recently occurred at two other stores in the same area — all executed in nearly identical fashion.
He added: “People came out shouting, yelling, trying to stop them — but they didn’t flinch. Nothing fazed them.”
Nine Arrested, Over €370,000 in Illegal Gains
Police investigation traced the group’s base of operations to the Korydallos area. Investigators found that before each robbery, the suspects stole a vehicle — likely to avoid detection through license plate tracking. Nine suspects have now been taken into custody and are believed to form the core of this criminal organization.
Based on preliminary findings, authorities estimate the gang’s total illicit earnings exceed €370,000.
