Super League to Implement Goal Line Technology and Semi-Automated Offside in Playoffs

In a unanimous decision on March 12, 2025, the Super League confirmed the approval of the regular season standings and playoff match definitions (positions 1-4 & 5-8) as well as relegation matches. Additionally, it was decided that the VAR system will continue for future competitive periods with bids being sought from implementing companies in collaboration with the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO). Teams were also informed about the progress of preparations for the implementation of Goal Line Technology and Semi-Automated Offside, which will be applied in the playoffs (positions 1-4) of the current competitive period. The scope of their implementation in future seasons will also be evaluated. Other decisions included rejecting a player’s appeal against PAE OFI and renewing the partnership with Grassform for evaluating playing fields. All decisions are outlined as follows: ‘During today’s General Assembly, the following were unanimously approved: 1/ Approval of the regular season standings for the Stoiximan Super League men’s division. 2/ Definition of the Stoiximan Super League Playoffs 1-4 and 5-8 matches, and Stoiximan Super League Playouts. Match schedules will be posted on the official website https://www.slgr.gr/el/. 3/ Continuation of the VAR system for upcoming competitive periods, with bids sought from implementing companies in collaboration with EPO. Progress updates on the implementation of Goal Line Technology and Semi-Automated Offside technologies for the Stoiximan Playoffs (group 1-4) of the current competitive period were provided, with future implementation scope to be examined. 4/ Rejection of an appeal by player Chr. Bourmpou against PAE OFI. 5/ Renewal of the partnership with Grassform for evaluating playing fields.’
