Super League: Tie-Breaking Criteria for Play-Offs and Play-Outs

in

The Super League returns to action this coming weekend with the start of the play-offs and play-outs. Just before the climax of matches that will decide the champion, European qualification spots, and relegation, the league has announced its tie-breaking criteria in case two or more teams are tied in the mini-leagues. If two or more teams have the same points, the overall head-to-head performance is considered first. If a tie persists, goal difference from those games is factored in. Should the situation remain unresolved, the team that finished higher during the regular season will be given preference. According to the official announcement by the Super League, specific criteria will apply within each group (Groups 1-4, Groups 5-8, and Playouts) in the event of ties. These include recalculating points based on head-to-head matchups, recalculating goal differences, and finally considering the original regular-season standings.
