Subsidy for Home Connection to Sewage Network – New €30M Program

The Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEM) announced the pre-publication of the ‘Connection to Sewage Network’ initiative, funded with €30 million from the Cohesion Fund under the NSRF 2021–2027 ‘Environment and Climate Change’ program. The scheme targets residents in settlements with over 2,000 inhabitants that already have a completed public sewage network but lack individual building connections. It supports private individuals in adapting or modifying their buildings’ internal wastewater systems to connect to the public network. Eligibility is strictly limited to natural persons holding real property rights (full ownership, usufruct, or bare ownership) over residential or professional-use buildings located in designated eligible settlements. Multiple co-owners may apply jointly, provided all consent—documented via notarized declaration or, in apartment buildings, a General Assembly minutes. For minors or legally incapacitated co-owners, consent must be granted by the legal guardian or court-appointed representative, as per Civil and Civil Procedure Codes. Ownership share (e.g., 50%) does not restrict eligibility, provided the applicant occupies or uses the property.
