Strong Winds and Thunderstorms Forecasted Across Greece – Temperatures Dropping to 20°C

The weather in Greece is set to be unstable tomorrow, Monday, April 28, 2025, with increased cloud cover and scattered showers expected in Western and Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Epirus, Evia, the Cyclades, Dodecanese, and Crete. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), isolated thunderstorms are predicted in the Cyclades, Crete, and the Dodecanese. Gradually, conditions will improve across most of the country except for Crete and the Dodecanese, where stormy weather will persist. Winds will blow from the east at 4-6 Beaufort in the west, while in the eastern regions, winds from northern directions will reach 6-8 Beaufort, locally up to 9 Beaufort in the Aegean and eastern mainland areas. Temperatures will drop in central and northern Greece, reaching 23°C in the west, 21-22°C in the Dodecanese and southern Crete, and 19-20°C elsewhere. Specific forecasts include clouds and local showers in Western and Central Macedonia with potential temporary downpours in mountainous areas during the afternoon, improving by evening. In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, it will generally be clear with some local clouds until noon. The Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and Western Peloponnese will see mostly clear skies with increased clouds in the afternoons and possible local showers or temporary downpours in Epirus. Attica will experience increased cloudiness until the afternoon with winds blowing from northern directions at 5-7 Beaufort, locally up to 9 Beaufort in the east. Temperatures will range between 12-19°C.
