Powerful 5.1 Richter occurred on Tuesday evening (21/01/2025) at the center of 8km from Methymna and became felt throughout the island with residents going on the streets. According to Geodynamic Institute the earthquake in Lesvos had a focal depth of 14.6 km and its epicenter was 8 km east northeast of Methymna. Then followed by a 2.7 Richter aftershock.
