Severe winds have caused significant problems across various regions of Greece, including Attica, on Monday (April 28, 2025). According to the Fire Department, numerous reports of fallen trees have been recorded in Athens and other areas within Attica. These incidents have resulted in damage to vehicles and infrastructure, with wind speeds reaching up to 8 Beaufort. One such incident occurred on Eirinis Avenue in Hilioupoli, where a tree fell onto a taxi and power lines from DEH. Consequently, both the Traffic Police and the DEDEHE were called to the scene. The strong winds are expected to continue into Tuesday (April 29, 2025), with Meteo forecasting sunny conditions interspersed with occasional clouds, increased cloudiness in eastern and southern areas, and isolated showers or thunderstorms on the islands of the Central and Southern Aegean. Additionally, near gale-force northerly winds are anticipated in the Aegean, while temperatures will remain relatively low for this time of year in the eastern and southern regions.
