The massive damage left in the wake of the storm that hit Paros on Monday (31.3.25) was discussed by the island’s mayor, Kostas Bizas, during the ‘Atairiastoi’ broadcast on SKAI Tuesday morning (1.4.25). Today, Paros presents a scene of devastation after being struck with great intensity by the storm. “We endured a difficult day that has left its marks. Several roads in the municipal road network have been destroyed, we had trapped drivers on the main road from Parikia to Naoussa and Parikia to Leukons – Marpissa. With immediate assistance from both municipal vehicles and private individuals, we managed to clear the roads. A significant issue arose at the river in Naoussa, where there are 40 damaged cars,” stated the mayor of Paros, noting that schools on the island which remained closed today will reopen normally tomorrow. He remarked characteristically, “Two months’ worth of water fell in a few minutes. The island was flooded.”
