Renowned director Steven Spielberg is set to return to the big screen with an untitled film currently scheduled for a June 12, 2026, release by Universal Pictures. This cinematic event will feature an all-star cast including Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt. Supporting them will be Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson. While plot details remain scarce, the story is based on an original idea by Spielberg himself. The screenplay is penned by David Koepp, who has collaborated with Spielberg on iconic films like ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘War of the Worlds’. According to AP, summer 2026 is expected to be packed with blockbuster premieres such as ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’, ‘Toy Story 5’, ‘The Odyssey’, and ‘Spider-Man 4’. Initially, Universal had planned to release the next movie from Oscar-winning directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’) on June 12, 2026, but a new date will soon be announced for their untitled project. Spielberg’s most recent film was ‘The Fabelmans,’ released in 2022, which received seven Oscar nominations.
