With his head lowered, wearing a bulletproof vest and under strict security measures, the 43-year-old Macedonian national — tenant of Stavroula Levendaki’s home — was escorted to the prosecutor’s office in Chania. The developments in the case of the 45-year-old woman’s disappearance continue to unfold rapidly.

Blood Evidence Tied to the Missing Woman

Forensic analysis has confirmed that bloodstains found on the television set and floor of the apartment — which Levendaki rented to the suspect — belong to her. Authorities are still awaiting test results for other biological traces recovered from a sponge, as well as from a van linked to the suspect.

Suspect Appears Over Cannabis Charges

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the 43-year-old man appeared before the Chania courts in connection with the discovery of 13 cannabis plants at a property he maintained near the apartment. His transfer to court was conducted under heavy police presence, with fully armed officers accompanying him.

Arrest Warrant Expected

Based on the newly confirmed forensic evidence, investigators now consider it highly likely that an arrest warrant will be issued against the suspect for homicide. To date, however, he continues to deny any involvement in Levendaki’s disappearance.
