Security footage capturing the final known movements of prominent criminal lawyer Stavros Georgiou is now under intense scrutiny by Greek police. The video appears to show Georgiou walking toward his office on 3rd September Street in the Agios Panteleimonas area of Athens on the evening of Monday, 20 July 2026 — just hours before he was found dead the following night, 21 July 2026.
According to preliminary reports, Georgiou arrived at the area in his car, parked nearby, and began walking toward his office. There, his two 16-year-old twin daughters discovered him lying lifeless in a pool of blood after growing concerned when he failed to contact them. They were accompanied by the building’s security guard.
A surveillance camera from a nearby building reportedly recorded Georgiou walking alone — but also captured another figure moving close to him. Initial analysis has not yet determined whether the person is male or female, nor whether they were known to the lawyer. Authorities have obtained the footage and are working to enhance and clarify the image in hopes of identifying the individual.
Investigators have also collected and are reviewing additional footage from other cameras in the vicinity, while simultaneously gathering witness statements from people who may have seen Georgiou during the late afternoon and evening of Monday, 20 July. One resident of the same apartment building reported hearing unusual noises — described as sounds resembling furniture being moved — coming from Georgiou’s office that evening.
The forensic autopsy confirmed that Georgiou died from multiple blunt-force head injuries, likely inflicted with a heavy, non-sharp object. His mobile phone remains missing, and its whereabouts are now central to the investigation — turning the case into what local media describe as a developing thriller.
