The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing a special repatriation flight from Dubai to bring back approximately 50 Greek citizens traveling with their pets. The initiative falls under the broader effort to assist Greek nationals stranded in the Middle East.

Supporting Pet Owners

The ministry has prioritized facilitating pet owners, as the ability to travel with companion animals has become a key factor for many seeking to return home from the region. According to the ministry, the flight will strictly follow all required procedures to ensure both the safety and welfare of the animals, fully complying with applicable regulations.

Clear Guidelines on Pet Transport

In its latest announcement on Middle East repatriations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that each airline’s charter flight terms are applied without exception. It confirmed that pet transportation is explicitly permitted under those terms. The ministry also reminded citizens wishing to repatriate that they must first register on the dedicated platform for Greek nationals abroad — the one corresponding to the country where they are currently located. Information about their scheduled movement to Greece follows at a later stage, based on operational planning.
