The community of Sparta is in mourning following a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of three young men. The crash occurred at Goude Park on the provincial road between Sparta and Mystras early Friday morning (07.03.2025). The 24-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle on a straight stretch of road, causing it to crash into a tree. The two passengers, both aged 21, were killed instantly.
The girlfriends of the three young men, who were in the back seat of the car, witnessed the horrifying moment of the crash. MEGA obtained footage showing both the car carrying the three friends and the vehicle with the girlfriends trailing behind. According to the video, both cars were traveling at low speeds, raising questions about how the fatal crash occurred.
The father of one of the victims expressed his devastation: “I’m ready to collapse. It was so abrupt and so harsh that I can’t process it. My wife is close to losing her mind. We got a call from the highway patrol around 2:30-3:00 AM informing us of the accident and asking us to go to the hospital. When we arrived, they didn’t give us many details until finally revealing the devastating news. All three were wearing seatbelts,” he emphasized.
“My son studied and worked as a waiter alongside these children; we at least knew one of them. He didn’t drink much, if at all. He was very well-liked at work,” the grieving father added.
