The causes of Jeju Air’s crash are being sought by researchers looking for answers through the black boxes of fatal flight that cost life to 179 people. The team conducting the investigation into the crash of an aircraft in South Korea loaded the first data from one of Boeing’s black boxes 737-800, an official announced. CORVERSE With regard to the cockpit surveyer, “the initial download has already been completed, ” said Deputy Secretary of Civil Aviation Joo Jung-wan, specifying that researchers are now considering how the data contained in the second black box, the flight data recorder, will be downloaded. Both of the aircraft’s black boxes were also recovered for the voice recorder in the cockpit, “the original export has already been completed,” deputy civil aviation minister Joe Yong-wan said. “ Based on these preliminary data, we intend to start converting it into sound form, ” he said, meaning researchers will be able to hear the final communication of pilots. CORVERSE The second black box, the flight data recorder, “was found with a missing link, ” said Joe Yong-wan. “The experts are conducting a final review to determine how data will be extracted from it,” he noted. Initially, officials pointed out that a possible cause of the crash was a bird blow, but stated that the investigation would also stand on the concrete wall at the end of the runway with Boeing 737-800 falling there before being wrapped in flames.
