applied urban plan of Thebes along the stream ΧÏυσοÏÏόα in a section that has been reclaimed from the street of an Outbreak (ΗλÎκτÏες Gates) to road Τσεβά – Avlis, a total area of 20.950 t.m.
This configuration obeys the authorities, the ways and materials of construction of bioclimatic urban design with the aim of reducing the temperature and the upwards thermal comfort for the users of the intervention area, the inhabitants of Thebes and visitors of archaeological sites within and in contact with the area of intervention, as well as with maintaining the operation of the stream landscape unit and, of course, for the benefit of climate conditions (temperature, ventilation) in the wider πυκνοδομημÎνη area of the Central City which crosses the Stream ΧÏυσοÏÏόα.
The intervention area is a transition area from the Hill of Καδμείας in the vicinity of this developing central areas of the city where the new Administrative Centre (town Hall) of the city. Specifically, the area of intervention extends from the enterprise BUS and along the stream reaches up to the Fire Service.
The shared public space has no particular use and presents abandonment while at the same time occupied by arbitrary uses.
The space of the ΧÏυσοÏÏόα was, until the decade of the 80’s a green space walking and bioclimatic hall for the whole of the city with lush tree planting. The building blocks of the urban plan without the parallel application of the state space of the stream and the analog design and the gradual conversion of riparian areas to green spaces in οικοδομήσιμους areas is in danger to deprive the city of a key bioclimatic factor for quality of life in the central districts of the city.
The construction of the bioclimatic project, therefore, will restore the function of the other green communal space in the entire eastern Καδμεία changing climatic conditions.
