Social μιθριδατισμός or the most good students…

The Santa Γιόγιακα*
The episodic arrest of journalist Panagiotis Tzenos following a complaint to the Minister of National Defence was not a bolt from the blue. On the contrary, it is the last, until …
far, link in a long chain of authoritarian practices of the coalition at the expense of freedom of expression, the unrestricted movement of information and pluralism in information.
Remember just a few of the “rings”: the contest – a parody of the television licenses. The blockade of the access of journalists and film industries in hotspots. The complaint of a citizen about the requirement for police to delete photos he had pulled from his cell phone with the motorcade of the Prime minister. The unfamiliar – with plenty of ignorance of basic rules of story – reply to the critical article in the “Guardian” for the NHS. And the list doesn’t end here. I’m sure many readers can recall other such cases. It is enough, however, to convince the most sceptical that the Government continues to seek control over institutions like the MEDIA, with a view to operate as the “long arm” of the: to carry the intention to mutilate him in control of her actions, to suppress non-liked issues, evaluate people and events as she would like.
Is not currently so important, why is he doing this, they have written besides a lot in the last two years: that I don’t know what it means to governance – and, therefore, increased responsibility, accountability and exposure to public criticism -but only protest. That is institutionally illiterate. They are seeking a degenerate democracy authoritarian, with shrunken rights and καταπατημένες principles of the rule of law. That is a consequence of their ideological formation and political education. Or, even, that do what they can to mitigate the consequences of an impending electoral defeat creating “foundations” and “pockets of resistance” for the next day. All play and each of those explanations has its value.
What I think we need to distinguish the back from this type of behavior are the effects that (can) have on the body social. On the one hand, throwing water to the mill of the polarization and cultivate a climate of division in which there are only friends and enemies: the established vs. the “αντισυστημικών” MEDIA, the patriots against the “εθνοπροδότες” and “ευρωλιγούρηδες, the non-aligned face to face with all sorts of “minions”.
On the other hand, the plethora of such phenomena can bring about a gradual familiarization of the general public. From the exception, it should be made part of a regularity, they become a daily environment in which they are treated as expected or normal for the measures of the coalition SYRIZA – ANEL. A μιθριδατισμός in the context of which “nothing surprising”, “nothing surprising”, as I said, with condescension, a partner of mine the other day.
The “poison” of the division and the apathy with which our rulers imbue the society reinforces the depreciation of the already κλονισμένης confidence in the functioning of the basic pillars of liberal democracy. Those who believe that the exit from the crisis passes through, and by the strengthening of the democratic institutions we must be constantly vigilant, ready to condemn such practices ποδηγέτησής. And we are particularly concerned as we see the rulers to compete for who will prove to be a better student of mr Putin, Erdogan, Orbán and Kaczynski.
