Smart Processing: Financing 151 investment projects with EUR 102.5 million

Funding 151 investment projects of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, announced today (21.11.2024) with 102.5m euros under the programme. The Smart Processing programme is part of the productive transformation of the Greek economy, as part of the green and digital transition strategy, according to the announcements of the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikos, along with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsakis on 21 October. The approved investment plans will receive from EUR 250,000 to EUR 6,000,000 to strengthen their technological infrastructure and upgrade their production equipment using smart cutting-edge technologies with low environmental impact. The action has as recipients very small, small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing and industrial sector of the economy. The Decision on the results and final classification tables was signed, following the procedure of objections, by the State Secretary for Development, responsible for the Anna Industry; Mani Papadimitriou and General Industry Secretary Vicky Loizo. “Smart Processing” is focused on adapting Greek small and medium-sized enterprises of the Greek industrial ecosystem to the productive model “Industry 4.0” and aims to accelerate the industrial transition through the digital transformation of operational and productive functions to create modern and competitive manufacturing operations. The technologies included in the production model ‘Industry 4.0’ allow, inter alia, digital transformation and automation of production lines, direct communication between devices using wired and wireless communication channels, as well as the production of prototypes and personalized products incorporating high technology. Investment projects supported aim to improve the resilience of manufacturing SMEs through the upgrading of digital production management and control systems, the supply of advanced and digitally controlled industrial equipment, the digitisation of interconnection systems across the supply chain and the production of systems and technology supporting digital transformation.
