Six passengers were injured today, Tuesday (01.04.25), when an explosion occurred aboard a high-speed tourist boat off the coast of Thailand, followed by a fire, according to local media reports. At the time of the explosion, the vessel Tana Marine 555 was carrying 36 tourists, mainly from Russia and Kazakhstan. The speedboat was approximately 50 meters offshore near Maiton Island, outside Phuket, when it mysteriously exploded and caught fire. Videos from the scene show the boat engulfed in flames, with the UK’s Metro newspaper reporting that debris from the Tana Marine 555 was ejected into the air due to the explosion. The fire spread rapidly, causing passengers to jump into the sea to escape the flames, where they were collected by a nearby vessel. Nachapong Pranit, director of the Phuket Naval Office, stated that a rescue team was deployed after the incident was reported at 9:20 p.m. local time. Reports indicate that three tourists and three crew members, including the captain, were injured in the incident. Two individuals with burns were transferred to the hospital. One report mentioned that the boat was anchored at the time the engine exploded.
