Born in 1922 in Athens, Stella Greca (artist pseudonym of Stylian Lagada) was a light song, which appeared occasionally in cinema as an actor. Singer Stella Greka who left life on the day of Theophanes (6/1/25) was one of nine children of a poor family. Her father was a stage designer and had friendly relationships with important people in the area, such as Pantelis Horn. CORVERSE He appeared young in the music scene of the capital and by the age of 8 the Athenian press had referred to her. In 1942 she married poet and director Orestes Lasco, who baptized her artistically Stella Greca, because she did not want to sing as Stella Lasco. He recorded a series of hits of known creators such as “Let’s go to the unknown”, “Last night”, “Turn around”, “What if you get lost”, “The Marina song”. He refused to record, however, the 1945 “Two green eyes”, as he found the lyrics of Costas Kyousi (something he greatly regretted later) and “Little hearts love” in 1946, which Michael Suyul’s creator suggested to the unknown then Tony Maruda, and gave him his first success. CORVERSE Her record presence was limited, essentially, to the two years 1946-1947. During the same period she also sang on the radio, with the accompaniment of composer Costas Giannidis, captivating as King Paul with her voice. Lascos persuaded her to play in his film Broken Hearts (1945). Initially, Greca was to star in G. Javella’s Applause, alongside Attik and Dimitris Horn, but her husband prevented her from participating in his own film. Later, he played in the film Faces forgotten (1946) by Javella, on the side of Emilios Veakis, George Pappas and Lambros Constantaras. The director, appearing on a scene of the project as a car driver, renounced his creation as his greatest failure. She continued her film career with only one more film, Marina, where she again took the lead role. The film, written by Sakellariou – Giannakopoulos and directed by the first, was a production of Philopomena Finos best man and aired in March 1947. Stella Greca had Dimitris Myrat and Lambros Constantaras on her side. It was a simple romance, which became a great success, due to the direction of Sakellarius and the songs performed by Greca. Having broken up with Lasco, in the fall of 1947 Stella Greca went to the US, staying with her brother Angel, in New York City. In 1950 he married Greek-American John Agerino, who was engaged in equipment. With Aggerin he had two sons. Since then, she dedicated herself to her family and her involvement with the song in the U.S. was limited. She returned to Greece in 1987 and lived in Dionysus Attica until her death at the age of 102. With information from Wikipedia
