The incident happened as the handlers attempted to break the record of 331 km/h during the Desert Storm Shootout race. Footage from the accident is terrifying, showing the boat soaring into the air, spinning, and eventually crashing nose-first into the water. Another video, captured by an onboard camera, reveals how the two crew members, who chose their cowboy hats as John Wayne and Clint Eastwood did, experienced the crash. Since 1963, there have been 11 accidents at this lake, with the deadliest occurring in 2018 when three people lost their lives.
