Janique disbanded Casper Rud with a 2-0 set in 70 minutes and took the ticket to their final, where he will face Taylor Fritz. A win away from completing an excellent season is Janique Sinner, as he qualified for a second consecutive year in the ATP Finals final held in Turin, winning Casper Rud’s semi-final 6–1, 6–2. The Italian, who received a reserve reception from the spectators when he entered the “Inalpi Arena” court, confirmed his position as No. 1 in the world ranking and noted after a 70-minute match his third win in equal numbers against the Norwegian tennis player at ATP level. With his 69th season win, 23-year-old Sinner became the youngest player after 20-year-old Layton Hewitt in 2002 reached multiple finals at the ATP Finals. The last “block” Sinner has to overcome to reach his eighth year’s title in the tour is American Taylor Fritz. The Italian, who has prevailed in 25 of his last 26 games, defeated Fritz in the ATP Finals group phase and will try to win without defeating the title in the event. Sinner is also the first player to reach the final without losing set after -recordman in the event with seven titles- Novak Djokovic in 2018. It is recalled that last year the Italian defeated the Serb in the group phase, but was defeated by “Nole” in the final. Since then, however, he has won the title at the Australian Open and the US Open and became the first Italian in history to reach No. 1 of the world ranking.
