Shi Jinping pledged 50 billion euros funding in Africa

China’s president Shi Jinping has made today a $50 billion promise in the next three years and that his country will have a contribution to creating a million on the continent. “In the next three years, the Chinese government is ready to provide financial support of 360 billion Wan ($50.7 billion),” the president said. C at the China-Africa summit held in Beijing, while promising that his government will help create “at least one million jobs”. Shi Jinping insisted that his government is “ready to deepen its cooperation” with the African continent in the field of economy. He assured that China-Africa relations know the “best period in history”. The world’s second strongest economy, China, is the largest trading partner on the African continent: bilateral transactions reached 168 billion dollars (near 152 billion euros) in the first half, according to official Chinese media. He has also sent hundreds of thousands of workers and engineers to Africa over the last two decades to handle major projects, while providing privileged access to the continent’s huge natural resources, especially the copper, gold and lithium deposits. A total of 25 leaders of African states have confirmed their presence at the summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, according to a French Agency count. This is the largest diplomatic appointment that Beijing has organised since the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The Forum will be completed tomorrow Friday (6.9.2024).
