Sex Pistols: Legendary Band Embarks on First North American Tour in 22 Years

in

The iconic punk rock band, Sex Pistols, formed in London in 1975, has announced its first tour of North America in over two decades. Notably, their last tour in the United States was back in 2003 with lead singer Johnny Rotten. This time, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook, and bassist Glen Matlock reunite with frontman Frank Carter to once again conquer the American stage. The tour kicks off on September 16 at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas, a venue steeped in history for the band. In 1978, during their inaugural U.S. tour, the Sex Pistols faced hostile receptions, including being pelted with bottles and other objects, as Jones recalled to the Associated Press. The Dallas concert is one of three featured in the albums ‘Live in the U.S.A.’, which document the 1978 tour, also including performances from Atlanta and San Francisco. The live recording from San Francisco, set for release on April 25, holds special significance as it captures the band’s final performance before announcing their dissolution. The tour concludes on October 16 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, according to CBS News. The band will perform in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco. Pre-sales are scheduled for April 2 and 3, with tickets going on sale to the general public the following day.
