Severe Weather Warnings for Northern and Central Greece, Crete, and Eastern Aegean

Intense weather has hit the Dodecanese and the Aegean Sea, with severe conditions expected to continue until Wednesday afternoon (April 2, 2025). Meteorologist George Tsatrallihas warned of dangerous weather phenomena in three geographical areas. The bad weather is already affecting the northern, eastern, and southern parts of the country, with thunderstorms causing significant problems on several islands, particularly Paros, Rhodes, and Crete. Three key areas require attention for dangerous weather in the coming hours: 1) Larissa, Pieria, Imathia, Pella, Chalkidiki, Thessaloniki (until Tuesday night); 2) Samos, Chios, Ikaria, Dodecanese (until Wednesday morning); 3) Chania, Rethymno (until Wednesday noon). The Hellenic National Meteorological Service updated the Extreme Weather Alert, indicating all regions that will be affected by the storm passage until Wednesday. Strong rains and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds and localized hail, are forecast intermittently until Wednesday noon (April 2, 2025).
