Severe Storms and Strong Winds Expected in Eastern Regions – Which Areas Will Be Affected?

The weather is set to change significantly starting from Monday, March 31, 2025, for two days, with rain expected across much of the country. The National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued an emergency bulletin at noon on Sunday. The bad weather will begin in the eastern parts of the country with dangerous storms, while conditions in the west will be relatively better with scattered storms. In Attica, rain is expected from Monday afternoon through Tuesday. For today, Monday, strong rains and storms are forecasted in most areas of the eastern region. The phenomena will locally be hazardous from midday in the Cyclades, in the afternoon in eastern Sterea (including Attica) and Evia, and in the evening on the islands of the eastern Aegean (mainly Samos, Ikaria, and Chios). Winds in the southeastern areas will blow east to southeast locally up to 8 Beaufort. According to the EMY’s emergency bulletin, heavy rains and storms are predicted from noon on Monday, March 31, until Wednesday morning, April 2, in most areas of the eastern region.
